Jackie Keller - General Manager
Jackie is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has been in St.Petersburg
for the past twenty years. Before coming to SPTC in October of 2002, Jackie
served as Tennis Director
& Pro Shop Manager at Treasure Island Tennis & Yacht Club for four years. Earlier she worked at Isla Del Sol Yacht & Country Club as Tennis Director/Pro Shop owner and teaching professional for 12
years. She has a degree in physical education and has taught in the public
school system as well as The Canterbury School of Florida. Jackie is a member
of the NSWTA, National Senior Womens Tennis Association and participates on the
senior circuit. In 2008 she Captained the USTA Senior Women 4.5 to the National
Championship in Indian Wells.

• Held a 34-1 singles all time Eckerd record
• Finished top 5 in National Team Tennis
Motez Robinson
• Former collegiate number one singles and doubles player at Thomas More College
in northern Kentucky.
• NAIA conference and district champion.
• 2002 USTA League Tennis Southeast Regional Doubles Champion.
• 1st Serve and Jr. Team Tennis coach.
Katie Thompson
Katie is originally from the Tampa area where she attended and trained at
Saddlebrook Academy. Finishing her senior year of high school she reached the
top 20 in the State of Florida. Katie received a full tennis scholarship to
Syracuse University in upstate New York. While she was there Syracuse finished
in the top 4 every year in the Big East Conference. After college she decided
to move back to Florida and begin teaching tennis. She worked at the IFPA
Tennis Academy for a couple of years teaching top-ranked Juniors. In 2006 she
started working at the Tennis Center.
Al Sarmiento
Al Sarmiento brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the center.
In his youth he won numerous medals in Jai Alai and has been inducted into the
Cuban Hall of Fame.
Focusing on making you a complete player in playing, moving, and thinking is his
goal.

Miranda Gutierrez
• Born and Raised in the Tampa Bay Area
• Ranked Top 10 in Florida in the 16’s and 18’s divisions
• Ranked Top 40 in the Nation as a junior
• Played High School Tennis at Tampa Catholic High School
• Hillsborough County Player of the Year 2003
• High School State Champion in 2003
• Recipient of the Andres Garcia Memorial Tennis Award 2003
• Went to college on a full tennis scholarship to the University of South Carolina
• After college became the Head Pro at Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club and
then was promoted to Tennis Director
